INTERVIEW Standartnews: Antonia Parvanova

Milena Nikolova

I write fairy tales and am quite tempted to publish them with illustrations of my own. Men's neckties are a challenge I send to men, says Antonia Parvanova.

Antonia Parvanova is a Doctor of Medicine. She is an MP in the 39th National Assembly. Mrs. Parvanova is a member of the parliamentary committees on EU integration and health care.

- Mrs. Parvanova, you stand out as a woman who often wears neckties. What kind of a woman would prefer a necktie as an accessory?

- In my outfits a necktie is something like a tease for the men's world in which I live. Because the higher you climb up the hierarchical ladder, the more man-owned the world becomes. This is the challenge I send to the men around me.

- Do you have a hobby?

- I like drawing, write comic stories and fairy tales.

- Have you been ever tempted to publish them one day?

- Yes, I have given it a thought. However, I'd rather like to publish a book with fairy tales for kids with my own illustrations.

- What is your most cherished dream when it comes to politics? The world has already seen a woman premier and even a president...

- Well, a lady president is a serious dream. Although why not...

INTERVIEW Standartnews: Dimitar Lambovski

Nevena Mircheva

We didn't keep our promise to ensure control over transactions. I don't want to be an accomplice when it comes to catering for political interests of the parties, said Dimitar Lambovski.

- Mr Lambovski, why did you hand in your resignation from the top post in the subcommittee on privatization control?

- I think that the control exercised over the current privatization processes is not effective. The public is not well informed. Bulgarian Telecommunication Company (BTC) was only the last reason for my resignation. The main reason is that we move very slowly towards keeping our pre-election pledge to shed more light on the privatization deals. We worked out a very detailed report, where the work of the previous cabinets for the period 1992-2001 is assessed. The public should know that. I don't want to be an accomplice if the same things happen under our rule.
